Answer
The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment is responsible for producing resources to support delivery of the curriculum. This includes resources on animal nutrition, behaviour and welfare which provide young people with opportunities to explore the life and health sciences sector in Northern Ireland in the context of animal welfare.
Schools have the autonomy to use a range of resources in their delivery of the statutory curriculum and my Department does not monitor the use of specific resources in individual schools.
In relation to careers, quality careers education and guidance, which is a statutory requirement in schools, provides young people with information on options and the available pathways into higher education, further education, training and employment. This will help students to make informed choices about their future career, offering insight into various professions and educational requirements.
