Answer
A procured Oxygen Service is currently provided by BOC Homecare Service for patients who require home treatment with oxygen in Northern Ireland. HSC Trusts and GPs access this same service.
To ensure there are adequate supplies and to ensure the correct patients get oxygen therapy in line with their needs there is an agreed prioritisation process with Trust respiratory leads.
SPPG, together with colleagues from each of the 5 Trust areas, meet with BOC on a bi-monthly basis to discuss the contract performance in relation to the KPIs specified within the procured oxygen contract.
SPPG have contacted BOC in response to your query and I can confirm there are no current shortages in oxygen or delays in delivery of home oxygen.
