Answer

I am aware of the impact that the shortage of carbon dioxide is having across the agri-food processing sector and welcome the statement from the United Kingdom’s Business Secretary on Tuesday 21 September aimed at ensuring continuity of supply over the next three weeks.

This intervention will provide the time and space for market adjustment to take place. My officials continue to maintain regular contact with agri-food processors, monitoring the evolving situation and providing advice and guidance as required.
