Answer

My department on behalf of the Northern Ireland Executive, has been leading the development of the Green Growth Strategy, a multi-decade strategy which will set out the long-term vision and a solid framework for tackling the climate crisis in the right way. One that balances economic ambition and environmental need, respects planetary boundaries and where everyone sees the benefits.

I have made it a priority and we aim to have an Executive approved draft Green Growth Strategy launched to align with COP26.

Subject to Executive agreement, a launch event for the draft Green Growth Strategy is currently being planned by my officials, and this will also kick-start a period of public consultation for the Green Growth Strategy.

At this moment, I cannot be specific about the date of the launch event and subsequent consultation as it is subject to Executive agreement of the draft Green Growth Strategy.

Thank you for your interest and please be assured that this is a priority for myself and my Department.
