The introduction of the Climate Change Act (NI) 2022 and the requirement for all Departments to set out policies and proposals within climate action plans to meet the 2050 net zero targets presents us with a real opportunity to address the climate emergency.
My Department is working collaboratively with DAERA in the development of the plans required by the Act. The development of sectoral plans for the transport sector is being considered as a part of that engagement.
