Answer
My Department’s five-year Estate Sustainability Action Plan incorporates an action to implement and promote biodiversity across the DAERA estate, including the provision of bird boxes. The DAERA Headquarters building at Ballykelly (Jubilee House) incorporates swift nesting boxes and swift nesting facilities have also been installed at DAERA’s Castle Archdale and Greenmount sites. However, I have asked that officials consider the merits of implementing swift bricks retrospectively across the estate and in the Department’s new build programme.
