Answer

Following the publication of the IPCCs Working Group III report ‘Climate Change 2022: Mitigation of Climate Change’ on 4 April 2022 I considered the content of the report along with other recently published reports from the IPCC.

Whilst the reports are at a global level the need for all Countries to play our part to accelerate action to tackle emissions to limit global warming is a key take away. The Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 and the draft Green Growth Strategy which my Department has progressed on behalf of the Executive, will act as key drivers to ensure that Northern Ireland accelerates its action to play its part in tackling the global climate challenge.
