Answer

Following the introduction of the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill in Parliament on 22 September 2022, officials in DAERA's Marine and Fisheries Division, liaising with the Foods Standards Agency in Northern Ireland and Local Council Environmental Health Departments, have initiated a review of how the Bill may impact relevant legislation and delivery of official controls in Northern Ireland.

This initial review will consider the need to sunset, preserve without change or reform the retained legislation on the labelling and traceability of fishery and aquaculture products.
