Answer

Following the introduction of the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill in Parliament on 22 September 2022, officials in Marine & Fisheries Division have commenced a review of the marine and fisheries legislation to identify what falls within scope of the Bill’s provisions.

This initial review will consider the purpose of the retained marine and fisheries legislation, and the need to sunset, preserve without change or reform it. This will include whether the legislation is required to meet international obligations that relate to fishing and the marine environment.
